Branksomewood, home to our co-educational Nursery and Infant School, is an outstanding purpose-built, bright and stimulating environment on our main school site. 

In this safe, secure space, Infant pupils develop the abilities to listen, question, be creative, solve problems and co-operate with others. Our Nursery and Infant children have the opportunity to play and learn in a variety of different environments, both indoors and outdoors, encouraging children to explore their curiosity whilst nurturing their enthusiasm.

  • Classrooms - Containing interactive whiteboards encouraging children to use their developing ICT skills.
  • Branksomewood Hall - Where celebration assemblies, performances, music, drama and PE take place.
  • Sheltered Area - Providing access to activities and play in all weathers.
  • Nursery and Infant Playground Where Nursery and Infant pupils play together, with access to a variety of equipment.
  • Nursery and Infant Back Playground Nestled in the trees, story time and picnics are brought outside.
  • Climbing Equipment - Enhancing co-ordination, physical strength and negotiation.
  • The Castle Developing gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination and providing physical challenges.
  • Trim Trail - Building cognitive ability, core strength, balance and coordination.
  • Playhouse - Encouraging socialising through creativity and imaginary play.
  • Mud Kitchen - Connecting to nature whilst developing fine motor skills, roleplay, exploration, and social skills.
  • Giant Sand Pit - Aiding gross motor development movements such as digging, lifting, scooping, pushing, and pouring.
  • Outdoor Classroom - Improving engagement and wellbeing whilst aiding environmental awareness.
  • Woods - Weekly Forest School sessions enhance exploration, investigation and understanding of seasonal changes.

Infant pupils also benefit from the use of our Junior and Senior School facilities such as the:

  • Junior LibraryWeekly story time with our Librarian, children choose a book to share at home.
  • Dining HallWhere a choice of freshly cooked nutritious food is served to all our Infant children.
  • Pritchard Hall - Our Nursery children are exposed to performing in our purpose-built auditorium.
