LORICE and Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme
LORICE
This scheme focuses on the development of pupil’s personal skills through Leadership, Organisation, Resilience, Initiative, Communication and Entrepreneurialism.
All pupils in Years 7 and 8 will take part in the programme carrying out a series of self-planned events either individually or in a group throughout the year that will meet the requirements of the LORICE objectives. The secure on-line system will allow students to record and evaluate activities before being presented with a certificate of achievement at a formal evening of celebration in the Pritchard Hall at the end of the year.
Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme
We are proud of our status as a licensed DofE Centre and are pleased to be offering the Silver Award, in addition to the Bronze Award programme.
The DofE scheme provides a natural ‘next step’ in the co-curricular programme for our students. Having completed their LORICE scheme, the girls develop a secure understanding and appreciation of compassion and thinking of others, alongside an emerging ability to identify personal skill development.
