Duke of Edinburgh
CHALLENGE AND ADVENTURE
At St Nicholas' School, our Senior pupils have the fantastic opportunity to experience the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme. We offer two levels; Bronze Award from Year 9 and Silver Award from Year 10.
Due to the extensive range of co-curricular activities that St Nicholas' School provides, it is easy for our pupils to transfer these activities to count for their DofE sections (Volunteering, Physical and Skill), making the award accessible to all whilst fitting it around busy timetables! As a result, many of our pupils complete both awards during their time at St Nicholas’ School.
The DofE scheme develops communication, leadership and teamwork skills while providing the opportunity to take part in exciting expeditions, making memories to last a lifetime. At St Nicholas’ School we ensure that all our expeditions are fun and a positive challenge.
St Nicholas’ School uses leading DofE instructors, making sure all girls have the best possible experience whist remaining safe at all times.

"Myself and my colleague had the pleasure in working with a group of your Year 9 students at the weekend on their Bronze DofE expedition.
I just wanted to say what a credit the students are to your school. They were great fun to work with and engaged with myself and my colleague really well. Your students did St Nicholas a great credit and you should know they left a very good impression."
