Entrance Examination
Prospective pupils seeking entry into Year 7 September 2025 are required to sit a computer based CEM assessment in verbal, non-verbal and numerical ability. They will also complete an English creative writing piece and have an informal discussion with a member of the Senior Management Team.
We request to see the latest school report and we write for a reference to the pupil's current school.
We do not advise any special preparation for our examinations. These tests have been selected to provide us with your daughter’s true potential whilst highlighting her all-around profile.
Our Entrance Examination will take place on Friday 29th November 2024 and the deadline for registrations is Friday 8th November 2024.
To register your daughter to sit the Entrance Examination, please complete the following downloadable registration form and return it to us together with a non-refundable registration fee of £100.00 (plus VAT from 1 January 2025), either paid as a bank transfer or a cheque payable to St Nicholas’ School.
Following the Entrance Examination, girls will be offered a place, subject to availability and achieving the required academic standard.
This place is then reserved by a deposit of £500.00 (40% is refunded against the pupil’s first term and the balance is refunded without interest, subject to the deduction of any fees or other sums due the school, on your child’s leaving).

Scholarships
Academic, Art and Textiles, Drama, Music and Sport scholarships are available for Year 7 entry to the Senior School only. Scholarship examinations for Year 7 September 2025 will be held shortly after the Entrance Examination in January 2025, at St Nicholas’ School.
Current and prospective pupils who wish to apply for a scholarship must notify the Registrar by Friday 8th November 2024.
